Gustav the Table.
2008/11/28

Project Dawn's Room. Went over to get measurements of her room. We brought cake and a candle! We'd even brought a lighter. But er, didn't know how to use it. Haha. We left the lighter in the fridge, by accident. HorrorShock. Hope we didn't make the liquid inside more explosive or something. (Btw, Dawn you still have to clean up your room :D)

Took a looong bus ride to Ikea. Fyi, the Ikea at Tampines is GINORMOUS. Okay, this is only the second time I've been there (Cause it's SO far away; I'd rather go to the one at Alexandra).

Gladys: Omg, so scary. LOL.

GoldenBallsxzx. They are HUGE. That's Gladys's hand.

The table's called Gustav. As in like Gustav Stresemann. Haha.

This is pretty smart. We'll never need to worry about being able to place the star nicely on the top of our Christmas trees ever again. You see, the star is actually supposed to be attached to the ceiling. It isn't even connected to the tree. But now there's the problem of adjusting the seriously heavy tree directly beneath the star. Hmm, maybe not that smart an idea after all.

We then went to AngMoKio Library. It's in the middle of nowhere. Looked for GossipGirl (the book) cause they didn't show it this week. Gah. We are so desperate for GG goodness. Haha. I think its cause of Thanksgiving. Great.

Watching Madagascar2 tomorrow. Wonder if it is as hilarious as people make it out to be.

Okay, XiaXue's latest post (25th Nov') is seriously good. Her photoshopping skills are phenomenal. Jack Black looks FIIIINNNNNEEEEEE <3.

Grave internal conflict.

Help.
I can't decide which to watch.
American Dad? Or Family Guy?
(The Simpson's out of the question 'cause it's a clear winner.)
Ahhhh!!!

   Wii
2008/11/23

PSLE results were out on Thursday. I think children these days are super smart. I actually know of only two 12-year-olds and their results, so you'd probably say that my overall judgement of the entire 12-year-old population in Singapore isn't very accurate. But anyway. They are still really smart. The only two I kinda know both got 260 and above. I feel a little dumb now. Haha. I think in the future we all have to have like permanent tuition teachers living in our homes to coach our kids and play Mozart all the time to ensure optimum learning levels. Ugh. Scccary.

Anyway, I've come to a realisation that we (SuYee, SungHye, ShanYing, Rachel, Rebecca and I) are really good at Uno Stacko.

Pictorial evidence: The weight of the whole stack is resting on one tile (the purple tile). And you gotta admit, this is a preettty high stack. A first for me :)

So yesterday was really fun. We raided SuYee's closet which has really cool stuff. Played Wii, which I still don't like. It's so hard to stay in the sensor zone and the remote's really sensitive. I was really really bad at this horse-riding game (I still think it looks more cow than horse) and there was this monkey-racing game which I think we all sucked at except SuYee. You have to move and shake your arms fervently (like the action of beating drums, but much faster) to move faster. We looked super silly. Haha.

Dinner - SEVEN DISHES (including soup).
1) Chicken curry
2) Spinach with Ikan Bilis
3) Prawns
4) Fish
5) Cuttlefish with KangKong
6) KOREAN Ginseng Chicken stuffed with glutinous rice (droooooool)
7) Lotus soup

Everything was homemade, courtesy of SuYee's mom and dad :) Yum yum yum.

Zathura was good. Except for the fact that it is very similar to Jumanji. Too similar in my opinion. It's like a space version of the board game.

I can't wait for Tuesday Thursday: FURNITURE SHOPPING WITH MY FAVOURITE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD :D

I've got rainforests in my room.

Thursday
'O' Levels were officially over. Somehow I didn't feel as happy as I thought I would. I mean I was happy duh, but not as I expected. So we went ice-skating at Kallang Leisure something. Those skates are really gross and smelly. Can you believe it: Up to that day, Carissa and Dawn have NEVER ice-skated before! But Carissa learnt super super quick. She found her ice feet first and was skating like a pro. She didn't even need to hold on to the sides.

And there was this guy in a black hoodie. He was REALLY ANNOYING. He's those pro-skaters that are really show-offy and freak you out on purpose. So he was teaching his friend how to skate and he suddenly came right smack in front of me! I can't believe I said this but I did anyway, "Omg, I'm gonna kill you!" Cause I was losing my balance and was really really annoyed. And he said, "Please don't kill me". -.-

Things That Irritate the Crap Out of Me at the Ice-Rink.
1. Holes in the ice. Some really considerate people loove to use the front of their skates to dig a hole in the ice. I dunno. Maybe they're ice-beavers or something and are responding to nature's call and are going into hibernation.

2. People spraying ice at you. A lot of show-offy skaters love to do this. They skate really fast and come to a stop really abruptly in front of you so that the ice sprays onto you. Gosh they think they're freaking ice-machines or something.

3. Pro-skaters skating really really fast and they whizz in and out between lousy skaters (i.e. me) when they have the whole middle area to skate on.

4. People who cut into your 'lane' when you're already struggling to skate properly and keep your balance.

Saturday
Barbecue at Mel's place :)Party beside a pool with no extra clothes = dangerous. At a point of time some of them were near the jacuzzi-looking pool and I think Gracie got pushed in. LOL. Then the madness began. Everyone started dragging each other into the pool. We, the smart ones, hid near the barbecue pit :)

Thank God it didn't rain. She ordered lots of food from the BBQ wholesale place. Yum yum yummy. But everything kept getting burnt on the outside but uncooked on the inside. Haha. Like a quarter to half of the chicken wings were like that. So we basically ate loads of chicken skin. Haha. So healthy.

And note for everyone, if you wanna have a barbecue, you need a BRUSH. We forgot one this time so we used a plastic fork as replacement. Yeah and the butter was kinda hard to spread over the food so they kept dripping onto the charcoal and yeap, there were mini explosions going on. It was quite er, shocking. Haha.

Yesterday
Watched Quantum of Solace yesterday. It was okay I guess. Actually, there is no storyline. Haha. Seriously. I think it's just a spin-off to the next movie. He's all about revenge and he sleeps with someone he met five minutes ago in like every movie. Horny man.

Today
Room cleaning in progress (or rather in continuation). Not very successful so far. I've so much crap that I can't bear to throw. So I'm actually just removing stuff from the shelves and putting them on the floor. The shelves now look really nice and empty but I can't see the floor. Btw, I have like 10 rainforests worth of paper in my room. I NEED TO FIND A RECYCLE BIN.

Error: I'm not a human (?)
2008/11/09

Okay 2 posts in one day. But this is hilarious. Almost everytime I try to comment at Michelle's blog I get this.

(click to enlarge) It's really pixelled. Sorry. Photoshop anyone?

Back to the point. It's freaking funny!! The woes of not have a LiveJournal account. Haha.

Lightning and the 'O' Levels.

2 papers left, both MCQ :) I can't believe the O Levels are going to be officially over soon. I've wait so long. I still hate the fact that the 'O' in 'O' Levels stand for ordinary. Ugh. Sounds so undistinguished and of no standard. And we study like mad for it. Can you image the Advanced Level. Anyway, I feel that our papers were a little weird, in general. As in it wasn't really expected.

Biology
Practical: A fish. Great huh. And we had to cut out the gills using a scalpel and those pliers-like things. The white tile was so bloody and everything reeked of fish. Now, that was a weird paper.

Paper2: It was TWENTY pages long. But I think it was mainly due to large diagrams and they gave us a lot of writing space. A little unnerving cause you feel as though your answers aren't long enough. Oh and there were questions that asked specifically about parts in the kidney tubule which we were apparently supposed to read through only. So annoying. I'd rather be penalised for getting it wrong due to my stupidity but I'd hate to faulted because I didn't know anything about the topic.

Chemistry
Practical: Same ol', same ol'. Titration and QA. But the planning question was like 6marks?! So dead for that one.

Paper2: A lot of people thought it was super easy. I was careless on a few parts. Argh. That's gonna cost me :/ Stupid electrolysis and the damn brush.

History
SEQ: They swapped the (a) and (b) questions! I kinda got a shock and was pretty stumped. Yeah I know, I'm the typical rigid Singaporean student. I did the one on War in Europe though I kinda regret it now. Should've done the one on the Treaty of Versailles but I blanked out on that topic so I kinda had no choice. And I wonder if I answered the question. I had a tough time answering about whether the appeasement policy was 'justified'. The word is so annoying. I feel that my cycle of explanation was relatively weak. Groan. AND THEY MIXED CHAPTER 8 AND 9 TOGETHER. THAT SUCKS.

SBQ: We had to compare messages of 2 different sources. Strange. Never done it before but I thought it was quite okay.

Okay not gonna talk about the rest, just cause. Nah, I'm too lazy. It rained SUPER heavily last night. Thunderstorm with ridiculous lightning. The lightning flashed so periodically. It was like every 5 seconds. And it wasn't the usually one lightning bolt shape in the sky (yeah I see that a lot in the west), it was like a massive floodlight that keeps switching on and off abruptly. It lasted for more than 2 hours :/ I practically did not sleep. Eye bags... Groan.

It's Whenever now.
2008/11/07

Whenever's here now and I'm starting to blog again. Feels strange to blog. Haha. I've been meaning to blog. Really. But there's a little something called procrastination, a close friend of mine. Once I stop blogging for awhile, I'll tend to not want to continue blogging cause I feel so... It's like a backlog of homework and you just don't wanna start doing it cause it has been lying there for soo long. Ok I'm talking rubbish.

'Last Day of School' (3/10/2008)
So school starting out as per normal. We actually had some lessons in the morning. Like SS. Then during English, everyone got their cameras out and starting cam-whoring. Mrs Raj was really nice about it. The classroom was chaotic. So the day started off with people writing autograph books (yeah we still do that :D).

Michelle's table, in its natural state of neatness :)

These are the best people in the world. I love you guys to death!

Ok this is REALLY cool. Michelle and I have a mole on our arms that are exactly at the same spot! Tres cool. (They're the eyes of the face) Haha. Oh yeah. Dhanya thought I was bleeding after that. LOL.

I think this picture is hilarious. I look like I got punched in the face. Haha. Something was wrong with my eye. Woke up looking like that. Great huh.

People cam-whoring.

The classroom looks like a tornado hit it.

Crystal, Me, Mrs Raj and Aalya! (Tricia and her were wearing these really cute ribbons in there hair :D)

Ulindra's ULTRA cool camera.

Walking to the Fairwell Assembly.

Ok the Fairwell Assembly was kinda erm pathetic. There was a speech by Jessica, then Mrs Tan, then Rev. Barry. Whoopee. Then they gave out prizes to the CCA people which was like HALF the cohort. The remaining no-getting-awards people were segregated to the right side of the chapel :( Poor us. It was SO-O boring. Eunice started drawing fake jewelry on people's fingers and wrists.

Evidence #1. Haha. The wordings says Pink Diamond. Cause Ramya had a mosquito bite on her finger and it looked a little pinkish. So, Eunice drew a diamond over it and hence, the Pink Diamond. Hahaha.

Evidence #2. It was so boring that someone decided to eat :D

Then they made a slide show of pictures from each class and played those graduation-type songs (E.G. Graduation - Vitamin C). I think it meant to make us cry, or feel sad but I was quite indifferent actually. Haha. I mean hello this wasn't really the last day we were gonna see each other. We still had like English supplementary classes and we would see each other during the O Levels.

So after the not-so-sad Fairwell Assembly, we went to the canteen for er, Reception (as they call it). Tables were assigned to each class and we had sparkling juice for YumSeng purposes. Haha. Michelle and I were like the first people from our class to reach there. Everyone else went to get their bags :/ And other classes were already YumSenging!

See see! 4/5 was already pouring the glasses (ok, plastic cups)!

Ok, so after quite awhile our class came and the erm celebrations began (?).

Yeah, so that's basically the roller coaster of emotions of the last day of school (not). I'm really not that sad to graduate actually. I don't really have that much emotional attachment to this school. And as for the people I'm closer to, well I know we'll keep in contact so no need to shed tears here. Ok I shall post of the O Levels soon. Off to play Neopets :) Haha. Imma ComputerGeek :B
